1/18/2024 0 Comments Eu4 manpower problemsIt is a general subreddit for the Grand Strategy Game from Paradox Interactive: Europa Universalis 4. This is a sub-reddit for Europa Universalis IV. I think this was obvious but anyway.EU4 Wiki /r/Paradoxplaza Patch Notes Dev Diaries Paradox Forums Livestreams Discord Welcome to EU4 I'm not talking about some conspiracy theories about the unknown behavior of the AI but the bonuses they get that can be clearly seen from the UI. Btw the second thing they were very generous with is AE impact reduction, which is also annoying and again makes the AI able to bypass some game mechanics/rules.Įdit: For clarification, every bonus a player doesn't get in-game is a cheat. I'd prefer a more broad but less significant bonuses approach for the AI. They will always have the men available for them. But too much of them make the game nearly pointless because then they won't have any point which they are weak. I think they thought manpower recovery is a harmless bonus that can benefit AI to be competent enough. The first thing among those is definitely manpower recovery. However, in EU4 there are some bonuses/cheats for AIs that devs were a bit too generous. So cheats are a must and every (sp) game has them AFAIK. We don't have the technology yet for AIs to be able to play evenly with humans without some backing. They will take as many loans as they need to raise mercenaries and fight. The AI DOESN'T have unlimited manpower but they are too willing to wreak their country just to win a war. There may be other things but these are the ones that I remember. These are: AI doesn't take naval attrition but has an artificial limit on how far it can sail, which is dictated in part by the player's colonial reach the AI has no fog-of-war but acts as if had (yes, all we know is this vagueness), the AI can see two provinces away instead of only one (otherwise it would be too easy for its armies to get trapped and kille by a human player), it has 1 diplomat whose only function is to interact with Human players. Lastly, the AI "cheats" on some game mechanics because it doesn't have a firm grasp on it. They are always the same 7 nations, all of which I can't remember from the top of my head.Īside from that, both Very Easy and Easy difficulties give the player modifiers, normal gives no modifiers to anyone, and hard and very hard gives some bonuses to the AI. Some of the Lucky Nations are: England/Great Britain, France, Ottomans, Castile/Spain, Poland/PLC, etc. It gives seven nations in the world a plethora of small buffs so that they can perform a bit better than the regular AI. The game autosaves and has a backup save. Iron Man only does two things: 1) Make achievements available to be gotten if you fulfill their requirement 2) Disallows manual save games. I have been keeping a close eye on the ledger since I started the war! I was 105K strong 102K manpower and with allies i had more than double the forces and manpower of the the Commonwealth! I do not have a problem losing but for instance in 1644 the Commonwealth had 52K manpower now in 160 they have 62K still and still at least 100K army which pops up everywhere they must have really fast submarines ! I saw in one of the opening tag that the AI cheat on very hard but this is preposterous and is a bit off putting and disappointing as one cannot fairly compete with endless forces and manpower! So I have been in this war with the Commonwealth now for almost 30 years! Luckily I was doing well but not sure I will get out of this financial mess so a re-start but maybe a break again as the AI cheating is a bit off-putting on iron man mode! Click to expand.I am playing iron man campaign as Castile! I am Spain its now 1660 I have integrated Brittany and 80% integrating Naples! I also can get a PU on France.
